Management Department organized workshop on “Demographic Dividend: a Boon or Bane”. The resource person was Dr. Sushendra Kumar Misra an alumnus of IIM Bangalore, currently working as a Registrar in Dr. B. R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology
(NIT Jalandhar) . He was with IKG PTU as Finance Office since 2013. He joined IKG PTU in 2004 as Controller of Finance and also worked on difference position. Dr. Mishra has more than 15 years of experience in the field of Administration, Educational Planning and
Management, Finance and Accounting, Research, Skill Development, Public Policy etc.
Dr. Mishra discussed that Demographic dividend is the economic growth potential that can result from shifts in a population & age
structure, mainly when the share of the working-age population (15 to 64) is larger than the non-working-age share of the population (14 and younger, and 65 and older).For better economic growth brought about by increased economic activities due to higher working age population and lower dependent population
