KCLIMT organized Online FDP on “Relevance of Big Data Analytics in Teaching and Corporate world”
In order to cater the rising need of analysing big data in corporate world as well as in teaching, The IQAC department of KCL-Institute of Management and Technology, in its endeavour conducted an online FDP on “Relevance of Big Data Analytics in Teaching and Corporate world” by Mr. Anish Aggarwal (Director, Big Data Analytics, Royal Bank of Scotland). Massive response received from professors as well as research scholars from Indian and foreign universities for online FDP. More than 180 registrations were received all across the globe out of which 70 participants were allowed to attend the FDP.
Dr Inderpal Singh presented key note address. On behalf of KCL Institute of Management and Technology, he welcomed Mr Anish Aggarwal , Director Data & Analytics ,Royal Bank of Scotland one of the renowned name in this field and all the participants from India and Abroad. He stated that as the lockdown continues we are not only experiencing the far reaching impact of current pandemic but also the emotions generated by it. Negative emotions like fear , fatigue , anxiety put extreme pressure on us and undermine our ability to focus on right priorities , think clearly , manage our relationships and make informed choices. But as teachers are Torch-bearers of Nation and they should be able to convert threat into opportunities , the whole teaching fraternity is finding out the ways to come out with news ways to disseminate knowledge and virtual meetings are the only options with us to stay in touch with our colleagues and students . As huge amount of data is produced every day, this webinar will help the educators to understand where and how improvements can be made in learning process. Further it can help the business houses how to analyze data in making strategic decisions
The resource person highlighted that Big Data technologies and initiatives are rising field to analyze the data for gaining insights that can help the business houses in making strategic decisions. This massive amount of data is produced every day by businesses and users. Big Data analytics is the process of examining the large data sets to underline insights and patterns. This field offers immense potential in the field of Business, Data Sciences, Real time usability etc.
In the field of teaching, big data Analytics field gives educators and students an edge in understanding where and how improvements can be made in the learning process. Big Data Analytics can be used to understand market and employment trends and to organize introductory courses and fundamental learning principles around emerging ideas in the business world.
